Learn Who We Are

  • Jamie Marvel Melarkey, DDS

    Dr. Marvel has been serving patients in Northern Nevada for the past 15 years. She was raised on a cattle ranch in northern Nevada. The Battle Mountain High School Valedictorian graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Nevada- Las Vegas with a 4.0 GPA. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from UNLV. Dr. Marvel graduated with high honors from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA. She was awarded the Oral Biology Award from the American Association of Oral Biologists, the Inesi Prize in Physiology, and the Dr. Leroy Cagnone Scholarship for excellence. She is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi dental honor society and the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society.  Jamie L. Marvel, DDS has been a member of the American Dental Association for 18 years. She has also served as the Northeastern Nevada Dental Association President.

    Dr. Marvel enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 young daughters. She enjoys cheering on her girls at junior rodeos and at soccer matches. She also loves horseback riding, roping, and helping on her family's 5th generation cattle ranch. Dr. Marvel is passionate about dentistry because she is able to utilize both her artistic and scientific talents on a daily basis. She finds it very rewarding to help people improve their oral health, quality of life, and appearance.  She says, 'My patients have become like family to me, and I am so grateful to each and everyone of them!'
